4h agoComedian and actor Colin Quinn is back on the New York stage with a new solo show titled "Small Talk."
His material stretches beyond what the show's title may suggest and encompasses a comedic look at communication within American society today. In particular, Quinn takes aim at internet culture.
“Obviously, it’s gone the way it goes where people just turn on each other. But like I say in the show, with social media, there's less repercussions for behaving rudely or behaving threateningly. Because it's all remote,” Quinn says.
The Brooklyn native is best known as a co-host with Jon Stewart of MTV's game show "Remote Control" in the 1980s. It was followed by a stint on “Saturday Night Live,” including as an anchor of “Weekend Update.”
Quinn’s other solo stage shows include "Long Story Short,” "Unconstitutional," "Red State, Blue State" and "The Wrong Side of History." A number of his shows were recorded as comedy specials for Netflix and HBO.
Quinn is scheduled to perform "Small Talk" through Feb. 11 at off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre in the West Village.
