Workers from beer distributor Clare Rose rallied in Patchogue Saturday to encourage customers to get on board in the hopes of pressuring the company to come back to the negotiating table.
Workers for the East Yaphank-based distributor say they're willing to negotiate but won't give in to what the company was last offering.
"No, I did not like the deal. Cutting my pay over 30 percent, it's going to be very hard to keep living on Long Island to be able to provide for my family," says employee Brandon Winslow, of Miller Place.
According to a Clare Rose spokesperson, "We have proposed a fair contract which is intended to protect all of our employees - union and non-union alike - by putting us in the best position to succeed over the long term in a very competitive industry."
Workers have been on strike since April 23 and say they're willing to stay out for as long as it takes to get a fair deal agreed upon.
Shortly after the strike began, Clare Rose said it was permanently replacing all striking workers. Since then, the company has issued statements to the media saying there is no current plan to fire anyone.
