A City Island man is waging a high-tech war on graffiti that has plagued storefronts, mail boxes and pay phones.
Joseph Savino says he paid out of his own pocket to install cameras around the area. The cameras are equipped with infrared lenses to capture vandals in the act at night, when they often strike. One woman says the City Island Little League Clubhouse was once an eyesore, but the criminals haven?t been back since the cameras were installed.
Savino is working with area businesses to have more cameras put up across the northeast Bronx.
