Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network is now owned mostly by someone else.
Discovery Communications made an additional investment of $70 million and now controls 70 percent of OWN network. Oprah will remain CEO of the network through 2025 and her company Harpo will continue to hold the large minority stake.
Meanwhile, people behind the desk at Lyft will soon be getting behind the wheel. The ride hailing company is requiring all of its corporate employees to work as drivers for at least four hours every three months to give them a new perspective.
The change comes as Lyft gains ground on competitor Uber, which has had a series of missteps in the last year.
Lastly, GM is re-inventing the drive through. The automaker is launching an in-vehicle marketplace that allows drivers to order food from behind the wheel.
After a drive places an order at Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts, the car will find the nearest store, place the order, and direct the driver to the address for pickup.
The service is already available to about $2 million GM owners.
