Charges were upgraded Thursday against one of the suspects involved in the shooting death of an East Patchogue father. Terraine Slide, of Medford, was arrested last Saturday for the shooting death of Carlton Shaw Sr. Police say Slide and four others were involved in a botched robbery at Shaw?s Amsterdam Avenue home. On Thursday, charges against Slide?s 15-year-old cousin were upgraded from burglary to second-degree murder. Police the 15-year-old was the one who brought the gun to the scene. Lawyers for the 15-year-old, however, say they have information that will exonerate their client. They say preliminary information points to another person who may be involved.
