A Central Islip woman convicted of killing her friend to steal his home has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
News 12 has learned that sentencing will run consecutively with two sentences of 2 1/3 to 7 years.
Donatila O'Mahony was convicted of murder and forgery charges after prosecutors say she shot and killed Lee Pedersen inside his Aquebogue home in 2020.
The Suffolk DA says O'Mahony forged Pedersen's will in an attempt to claim ownership of the home.
Family and friends were in the courtroom today for the sentencing and gave emotional statements.
The judge said before the sentencing that he could not imagine a more "evil plot."
