Celebrate the Glass House's 75th Birthday in New Canaan!

The Glass House was built in 1949 by architect Philip Johnson and he lived in the home until his death in 2005.

2024 is a very exciting year at the Glass House in New Canaan as its celebrating its 75th year!

The Glass House was built in 1949 by architect Philip Johnson and he lived in the home until his death in 2005.

Johnson is known for his incredible career as a curator for the Museum of Modern Art, a landscape architect and designer and an influential mentor and teacher to young architects.

It is also this year of the opening the newly-restored Brick House, which has been closed for 15 years due to water damage. The Brick House was part of the original design of the site along with the Glass House in 1949.

Inside both famous houses, the history and archives of them are on display for visitors to see. There's also a design store, which hold a collection of beautiful objects inspired by the Glass House.

Philip Johnson was an avid art collector, and many noteworthy works are on view including artists Frank Stella, Andy Warhol and Robert Morris.

Reservations to visit are required.
