An SUV crashed into a Greenvale jewelry store early Monday, police say.
The incident happened at Charles Krypell Fine Jewelry at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Glen Cove Road around 5:30 a.m.
Surveillance video from the store shows a vehicle coming across Northern Boulevard. As it goes through the intersection, it appears to be clipped by an 18-wheeler.
The SUV then goes into the side of the store and crashes through a wall. A display case was pushed out of its position and part of the wall was pushed in.
Nassau County police say the driver only suffered minor injuries.
The director of the jewelry store, Evan Krypell, tells News 12 he could hardly believe it when he saw the SUV strike the building.
"We looked at the footage and we saw that a vehicle went into the building at around 60 miles per hour and it was purely accidentally so immediately you think of the driver, and you want to secure the building," Krypell says. "But it was pretty crazy."
Krypell tells News 12 the store was closed when the crash occurred and there was no merchandise in the display cases.
