The Israeli flag was taken from a Rockland County business Friday morning.

The Monsey Service Station on Main Street put up a new Israeli flag because someone took the previous one early Friday morning.

It had been there for a week.

The businesses security camera caught the whole incident.

"I was angry and annoyed,” said Lauren Pepper when she saw the video of what happened.

The person - who was covered up - stood on a recycling bin in order to reach it.

"It's an emotional hit,” said Pepper. “Not just a religious hit for us."

The flag was given to her family by Gadi Harel, a longtime friend and local business owner before his death last year.

He also served in the Israeli army.

Ramapo police tell News 12 they are investigating the incident and looking for the person in the video.

Pepper told News 12 on Friday, "the detective asked us this morning; do you want somebody arrested? I said 'I'm not looking for that. If he has my flag. I want it back."

Earlier this week, News 12 reported on antisemitic flyers that were left at the body shop.

Additionally, before the News 12 car arrived to the location on Friday to talk about the stolen flag, Pepper says someone told them to take down the new one they were displaying.
