Caught on camera: Driver intentionally crashes car into Wantagh store to steal sneakers and clothes The stunning moments were captured on camera when a BMW backed into Simplex on Merrick Road in Wantagh - and then multiple people ran inside to steal items. The store sells sneakers and apparel. It happened just before 5 a.m. on Jan. 15 and News 12 has learned just two days before that, the same thing happened at the same store. In the first incident, also captured on camera -- with the date and time -- a car is seen driving into the glass storefront and items were then stolen from the store. In the second incident, plywood was up as a result of the first incident (which the prosecutor referenced in court) and the car can be seen driving through the plywood. According to court documents, the store lost $50,000 as a result of the Jan. 15 incident. Police said there were two BMWs involved in the Jan. 15 incident. They discovered one of the vehicles in North Bellmore not long after the theft. Authorities said it was stolen from a home in Connecticut. The vehicle was found at the intersection of Coral Court and Little Neck Avenue. Police said two teens standing outside that BMW fled, but cops caught up with them. Both were arrested. One is a juvenile. The other defendant is 19-year-old Christopher Flores, of Holbrook. Flores is charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property. A judge set his bail at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. Police are still looking for four others and the second BMW. It is unclear if the Jan. 15 incident is related to the earlier one. Police have not commented.
