The borough of Carteret just broke ground on the highly anticipated, multimodal ferry terminal building.
The new terminal will allow ferry service to return to Carteret for the first time since the 1950s.

The terminal will be a four-story, 52,000-square-foot hub with retail, restaurants and recreational space.
The terminal is expected to open by early 2028.
