Service was partially suspended on the LIRR Ronkonkoma branch early Tuesday morning due to a car fire on the tracks.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze just before 3 a.m. on Clinton Street near the Farmingdale station.
A few trains were held while railroad crews worked to remove the vehicle from the tracks.
Service resumed on one of two tracks originally, as crews worked to repair damage to the tracks.
There were some residual delays between 15 and 80 minutes when the stalled trains were first put back into service.
News 12 has reached out to the MTA for more information on what led up to the incident and are still waiting to hear back.
