A man is accused of driving drunk and crashing onto the LIRR tracks near Farmingdale early Tuesday morning.

Police responded to the LIRR station, located at Melville Road and South Front Street, for a vehicle on fire on the tracks.

Jorge Ferrer Hidalgo, 29, of Port Washington, was located nearby the scene and placed under arrest, Nassau police say.

Service was partially suspended on the Ronkonkoma branch while crews worked to remove the car from the tracks.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze just before 3 a.m.

Service resumed on one of two tracks originally, as crews worked to repair damage to the tracks.

There were some residual delays between 15 and 80 minutes when the stalled trains were first put back into service.

Hidalgo will be charged with three counts of DWI.
