Long Island has never elected a Black senator to the New York State Senate. Taylor Darling and Siela Bynoe are both hoping to change that.
The first step is to win the Democratic primary for the newly redrawn Sixth Senate District, which includes the villages of Westbury, Mineola, Garden City, Hempstead, Rockville Centre and Freeport.
