Calhoun High School students sat down with local female business leaders Wednesday for dinner and to raise money for a good cause.
Students in Merrick say the goal of the event is to lift one another up.
"You're not alone in whatever they do, they can overcome any obstacle," says junior Iliana Waldman. "It doesn't matter what gender, who you are, what you are, you can do anything you want as long as you put in the effort and try as hard as you can."
The dinner raises money for a scholarship for one female student preparing to study business in college.
