Despite Bronx residents? claims they didn?t know an anonymous drug tip hotline existed, the Bronx borough president says it is working.
Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. created the hotline to reduce drugs in the borough. Carrion?s office says since the program started in April 2005, more than 300 people called the tip line.
Carrion?s office says community boards should have the phone number posted for the program. Residents who say they didn?t know about the tip line before, say they plan to use it now. Anyone who wants to anonymously report drug activity should call the tip line at (718) 590-3551.
