Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman received the New York State Conservative Party’s nomination for governor during a visit to Stony Point on Saturday, marking another major boost in his bid to become New York’s next governor.
The nomination comes days after Blakeman secured the state Republican Party’s endorsement at its convention in Nassau. Blakeman says he plans to cut taxes, create jobs and represent all New Yorkers in ways he argues incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul has not.
“This is a party that’s very much involved in American values, cutting taxes and cutting regulations,” Blakeman said.
Blakeman acknowledged the race will be a difficult battle but said he is ready to fight for voters across the state, including those in the Hudson Valley.
“I will cut your energy costs in half when I become governor. We’ll create jobs, economic prosperity so young people don’t have to move out of state to get a job and our businesses will stay here,” he said.
Blakeman also vowed to continue his work as Nassau County executive while campaigning statewide.
