A Brooklyn woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing nearly $12,000 from a her former boss at the Melville Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices.

The investigation began when the business owner allegedly discovered numerous unauthorized transactions involving checks made payable to a former employee.

Financial Crimes Unit detectives say they determined that former employee Leeanna Luke forged and deposited 15 stolen checks into her personal bank account, totaling $11,828.13.

Luke was charged with identity theft, grand larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
