Bronx streets are a little safer now that 38 fugitives were captured in the borough as part of a nationwide roundup.
The Justice Department announced Thursday it got the ?worst of the worst? off the streets when nearly 11,000 people were arrested in Operation Falcon III. One of the Bronx suspects includes Nelson Rodriguez, who was wanted for allegedly violating parole. Rodriguez was convicted of armed robbery and is a suspected Latin Kings gang member.
Federal, state and local law enforcement made the arrests last week. The suspects were wanted for offenses ranging from gang activity to drug crimes. Many of the people were arrested for failing to register as sex offenders, which is a federal crime.
