Broken pipe closes Mount Vernon school, shifts students to remote day

The school building is closed today, but students will learn remotely through synchronous and asynchronous instruction.

A broken pipe closed Lincoln School in Mount Vernon this morning, according to Superintendent Dr. Demario A. Strickland.

Officials say the pipe that broke is inside the school and is connected to a sprinkler. There’s no word of any damage yet.

The school building is closed today, but students will learn remotely through synchronous and asynchronous instruction.

Dr. Strickland said all students and staff are safe.
