A Bristol police officer who killed a man who opened fire and killed two other Bristol officers is being recognized nationally.
Alec Lurato is set to receive the Courage in Service Award and will be inducted into the Law Enforcement Hall of Fame.
Back in October, Lurato returned fire and killed the suspect who shot and killed Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy after the three of them responded to a home in Bristol.
