Bridgeport police say a homeless man was found dead on Boston Avenue early Saturday morning.

While the man's identity and cause of death have not yet been released, members of Bridgeport's homeless population spoke out about his passing Monday.

"It's definitely a reminder to all of us who live out here on the street that you need to go to a warming center, like Alpha Community Services YMCA here on Park Avenue. I've been staying here during this really cold weather; and they must take you in when there's a cold weather emergency in effect. If they're at capacity, they'll find someplace else for you to stay," said 45-year-old Julissa Perez, of Bridgeport. "I've been homeless for about a year now and this is a good place to be during extreme cold weather."
