A special tribute was held Wednesday for a beloved member of the Brentwood community.

The Town of Islip unveiled a new street sign to honor local activist Obdulio de Leon, also known as Oby.

Oby was born in Guatemala City and immigrated to Long Island when he was 11. He died in 2021.

The intersection of Candlewood Road and Stein Drive will now be known as "Oby's Way."
