Box truck driver charged with DWI in fatal Bethpage crash

A crash involving a suspected drunk truck driver left one person dead Thursday morning in Bethpage, according to police.
Authorities say Gino Vargas was struck by a box truck as he drove out of a parking lot on Hicksville Road.
The 32-year-old sustained a collapsed lung, broken pelvis and later died at the hospital.
The box truck driver, identified as Wilber Arevalo Argueta, was arrested at the scene and charged with DWI.
He was issued an appearance ticket and will be arraigned on Dec. 23 at First District Court in Hempstead.
