The Islanders playoff run not only lifted the spirits of its fans, but it also boosted the visibility of Borrelli's restaurant in East Meadow.

For more than 60 years, if you couldn't cheer the Islanders on at Nassau Coliseum, you did the next best thing and went to Borrelli's Restaurant.

It's been the perfect spot to grab a bite before a game or in the old days take in some Stanley Cup parades.

The Islanders won't be playing around the corner anymore. In the last few months, the restaurant gained national popularity and had a new cult following.

Even the Isles coach Barry Trotz gave a shout out to Borrelli's.

The fan's hearts and stomachs are staying put with one fan saying, "this will always be home."

And who knows, maybe a new era for Borrelli's is also down the Turnpike.
