Police have launched an investigation after a body was found buried in the woods in Farmingville.Investigators found the body Thursday on Express Drive North near Old Medford Avenue. Police say they received a tip that a body was buried there.The medical examiner is performing an autopsy on the body. Police have not revealed the victim's age, sex or cause of death.

Police say the body was so badly decomposed they may need DNA to positively identify it.Cops say they are also trying to determine who notified them about the body.Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
