Two Long Island fire departments have joined others in New York to sue the state.

The group of departments say New York has failed to collect and distribute millions of dollars in funding from insurance companies.

That money goes toward fire districts' infrastructure, injured firefighters' health care and New York state's Firefighters Association.

The Blue Point and Hewlett fire departments have signed the lawsuit.
