There are some calls for Hofstra University’s president to resign over her statement on the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman says Dr. Susan Poser should step down from her role after her statement last month on the Hamas attacks in Israel.
In a letter to the Hofstra community, Poser cited “complex history and conflicting views” in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for the violence overseas, rather than condemning the Hamas attacks.
Blakeman says her judgement puts her ability to lead the university into question.
The Hofstra Board of Trustees says it remains confident in Dr. Poser and disagrees with Blakeman’s call for resignation.
