Billy Joel returned to his alma mater of Hicksville High School Saturday to speak at the school's graduation ceremony.
The Piano Man's speech came 50 years after his own scheduled commencement. Joel received a diploma from Hicksville in 1992 after falling shy one credit when he was a senior.
Joel's advice to the 400 graduating students was to find something they love to do.
The two top students at the school – Awaiss Butt and Sai Srinivas – told News 12 Long Island that they felt lucky to have the singer and songwriter present during their big day and are excited about the future.
"It feels amazing. I still can't believe we are here," said Srinivas, the class's salutatorian. "I don't think it's really hit me yet."
