Billy Joel was honored Wednesday ahead of his 100th show at Madison Square Garden.
To commemorate the Piano Man's record-setting show, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Madison Square Garden CEO James Dolan proclaimed Wednesday as Bill Joel Day and presented the Hicksville native with a plaque and a piano that will be on display inside of the Garden.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer currently holds the Garden's record for most performances.
Joel's residency is already set to run through the end of 2018, but he expects it to be extended into next year.
Wednesday's show is the 54th in Joel's current run. It is expected to have surprises and special guests.
