Bethpage man faces attempted murder charge in connection to 7-Eleven shooting

The victim was hit once in the hip and is expected to recover.

A Bethpage man has been charged with shooting another man at a 7-Eleven in Hicksville Saturday.
Police say Mathew Escarria, 18, was at the convenience store on Jerusalem Avenue when he fired five rounds at the victim just before 11 p.m. before fleeing the scene.
The victim was hit once in the hip and is expected to recover.
Escarria faces attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
