The Belmont Stakes is returning to full capacity this year after a small attendance in 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
There is no Triple Crown on the line, but the Elmont running is still one of horse racing's biggest events.
"This is something that comes up on an annual basis and is part of the Triple Crown - part of the great and rich tradition of thoroughbred racing in the world, and to have such an important event here in Nassau County and to have it open this summer, is huge for us," says Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
Security officials say drones are banned in and around Belmont Park moving forward.
