30ds agoA Bellmore superintendent is at the head of his class. Dr. Joe Famularo has been named New York’s Superintendent of the Year.
Dr. Famularo is being recognized for his “unwavering dedication, passion for excellence and ability to inspire change.”
Since his time at Bellmore, Famularo has become the first in the state to be recognized as what is called a ‘Lighthouse District for Leadership.’
The designation is given to schools that create a leadership culture for their students.
Dr. Famularo will be honored during a special ceremony in Albany in March.
