Bee-Line bus riders weigh in on service across Westchester

Bee-Line bus riders are weighing in on routes and service across Westchester as part of a survey launched by transit advocates.
The Tri-State Transportation Campaign surveyed riders in Yonkers Friday. The survey comes after the bus system cut scheduled trips by 5% last month.
"They are waiting a long time for buses. They are wanting more weekend service. We caught a bunch of people coming from a night shift, and they all want service early in the morning," says Talia Crawford, campaign organizer for Tri-State Transportation Campaign.
The Westchester County Department of Transportation plans to redesign the Bee-Line bus network.
The survey started in October and runs through the end of this month.
Michelle Boynton, of Mount Vernon, rides the bus Monday through Sunday and says changes are needed.
"They need more benches, more covers like the covers when it's raining," says Boynton.
The survey started in October and runs through the end of this month.
Westchester County also conducted its own comprehensive survey of bus riders and non-riders. Those results are expected to be posted online in a few weeks.
