Bed Bath & Beyond plans to
close one of its locations in Nassau County and all Harmon drug stores on Long
Island as it tries to avoid bankruptcy.
The Bed Bath & Beyond that
will close is located on Union Turnpike in New Hyde Park, according to the
retail giant.
The Harmon stores
that will close are located in Massapequa, Plainview, Mineola, Carle Place,
Melville and Commack.
Overall, 87 additional locations are set for shut
down across 30 states.
Last August, Bed Bath & Beyond officials said
the chain would close about 150 of its more than 900 locations nationwide as it
sought to climb out of its financial hole.
