An 18-year-old Bayport-Blue Point High School senior was killed Monday after crashing his car into a tree.
Police say Carlo Geronimo was speeding when he lost control of his car on Middle Road. Two passengers survived. Officials believe Geronimo was speeding because the occupants of his car had tossed eggs at another car just prior to the accident.
Friends say Geronimo was a football and baseball star and was recently named one of Newsday?s Top 40 Baseball Players to Watch in Suffolk County. His teammates say they are dedicating the season to his memory.
