Many parents in Bay Shore are upset at the school district?s handling of an incident where a man exposed himself to a fourth-grader at a school bus stop.

Police say a man in a car exposed himself and was masturbating while staring at the boy on Wednesday. However, parents did not receive a letter about the flasher until Thursday and they say the letter omitted the sexual nature of the incident. The mother of the victim says she is the one that notified the police, not the school.

The superintendent of the Bay Shore School District says the district did contact police about the incident and students at South Country Elementary School were informed that day. Meanwhile, many parents say they will now make sure they meet their children at the bus stop.
