Long Island's own Chris Weidman will be back in the octagon later this summer.
Weidman is set to take on Russian fighter Omari Akhmedov Aug. 8, he confirmed via Twitter Tuesday.
Weidman will fight in the middleweight division and put his 14-5 record on the line versus the 20-4-1 Akhmedov.
According to MMAFighting.com, the fight does not have a set location yet, but it is expected to take place in Las Vegas.
The 36-year-old Baldwin native will be looking to pick up a win after losing his last two matchups via knockout.
Akhmedov has not lost on a UFC stage since April 2016.
