Some Nassau County art students gave patients a reason to smile at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital on Thursday.
Those from Baldwin High School donated their time to the Calming Murals Project with Northwell Health.
They are painting moveable murals in an effort to bring some peace and serenity to patients and their families who are going through cancer treatments.
"I've always found artwork calms me down and then for me to have the ability to do that for others," says senior Jazmyn Gonzalez. "It was just astounding."
Students also created murals as a "thank you" to the health care staff heroes
