Long Islanders came together to pay their respects to a local homeless veteran who died.
A service for David Coty was held at Spencer Funeral Homes in Babylon.
Coty died in April with no known family.
"With the Patriot Guard Riders, American Legion, Vietnam Vets of America, David Coty won't be alone," says Charles Spencer, general manager at Boyd Spencer Funeral Homes. "He'll have a family; he'll have his military family and friends."
Coty served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He is buried at Calverton National Cemetery.
His funeral is part of a movement from the Dignity Memorial Homeless Veterans Burial Program.
