A fire in Bohemia early Saturday morning destroyed a popular business on Veterans Memorial Highway.
The fire began at a shopping center at around 1:30 a.m., according to authorities. It also shut down parts of the highway during the morning.
At one point, firefighters had to use a chain saw to gain access into the building.
Officials said the fire started in the Signarama shop.
Liz and Phillip Ebert, the owners of the shopping center, rushed to the scene after receiving a call that Signarama was on fire.
The Eberts said they have been at the location for 50 years and this is the first time a fire has broken out there.
The shopping center has five stores. The couple said four stores suffered heavy smoke damage. However, Signarama is a totally loss.
No injuries were reported in the fire and the cause is still under investigation.
The Eberts said that they are grateful no one was hurt in the fire, and they vow to rebuild the shopping center.
