The parents of a Suffolk County teenager who was allegedly choked on school grounds are suing the Three Village Central School District.
The family attorney, Kenneth Mollins, says the 13-year-old Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School student went through months of physical and verbal bullying by a classmate.
He says school officials were notified each time a situation occurred but says the school did not follow up.
The bullying escalated in March when the victim was allegedly choked in the school gym until he became unconscious.
"The school was notified over and over and over again, and they didn't do anything," Mollins says. "They just turned their backs on a special ed student who repeatedly over and over and over told them that he's being bullied, and nothing happened."
News 12 reached out to the school for comment but has not heard back.
