At least 12 people displaced by house fire in Freeport

The eight adults and four children affected by the fire are being assisted by the Red Cross.

A house fire left at least twelve people displaced Saturday afternoon in Freeport, according to authorities.

The Nassau Fire Marshal’s Office says the flames broke out around 4:30 p.m. at 36 Woodbine Drive West.

Seventy-five firefighters from nine different departments responded to the scene.

The blaze was controlled in around 90 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The eight adults and four children affected by the fire are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause remains under investigation.
