Police have arrested the person they believe murdered a teenager at a North Valley Stream birthday party.
Seventeen-year-old Ricky Anthony Williams was shot to death last month on Wyngate Drive. There were more than 100 people at the party when the Queens teen was shot. Police said the victim and shooter knew each other.
"There was an ongoing dispute," Nassau Police Det. Lt. Michael Fleming said. "Not necessarily a turf dispute, but they would meet up with each other at different parties. There were several fistfights in the past between the groups, but this was the first time that it escalated."
Police arrested 18-year-old James Strong, of Queens, Thursday night in Yonkers. Strong is being held without bail and faces 25 years to life in prison, if convicted.
