Prosecutors say Nicholas D'Agostino was shot Wyandanch's Yusef Staine in the head and torso while they were on a train from Ronkonkoma.
D'Agostino was arrested in Yonkers a year later, according to authorities.
He faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced.
