Over a dozen affordable apartments are now available in Westbury.
There are 18 workforce-priced units available at the new Cornerstone Westbury Complex on Railroad Avenue.
The Long Island Housing Partnership says the monthly rent will be around $500 less than the market units. The cheapest unit will be about $2,000 a month.
The LIHP says there will be a lottery to decide who gets a lease based on income. Veterans will also get priority.
"We've had over 100 people apply so far to date," says LIHP Vice President James Britz. "So we anticipate a large demand considering this is a transit-oriented development close to the Long Island Rail Road."
The application window closes on July 24.
