Hundreds of Long Islanders took part in this year's Long Island Pride Parade in Huntington.

This is the 35th anniversary of the annual event which celebrates the LGBTQ+ community.

Dozens of floats displaying rainbow pride made their way down Main Street along with close to 100 local organizations and advocacy groups in support of LGBTQ+ rights.

Organizers say this year's theme is "defiant joy."

"We are going to be anything but silent. We're going to be loud. We're going to be out. We're going to be proud. We're going to be fighting for every single LGBTQ+ youth and person," said David Kilmnick, president of LGBT Network.

The Long Island Pride Parade is the oldest and largest parade in the region serving the LGBTQ+ community.
