The Amityville Fire Department says it was alerted to responded to the structure around 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
The primary hazard was an active electrical condition when the meter pan went into the water, according to fire officials.
PSEG LI responded to the scene and restored power after about an hour.
The homeowner confirmed there was no one inside the boathouse at the time of the collapse.
There were no injuries reported.
