America’s VetDogs cut the ribbon on a new renovated lobby at its national headquarters in Smithtown Thursday.

It’s the organization’s first renovation in 25 years.

It features a new classroom for veterans and first responders.

There’s also new flooring, TV monitors and a mock airport and airplane in order to help the dogs get more comfortable flying.

“It’s probably the most unique feature that we have,” says America’s VetDog President and CEO John Miller. “It's a very important thing after people come here get their dogs, they all go home on an airplane.”

America’s VetDogs were one of only seven organizations nationwide to receive a grant from Lowe’s through its Hometowns program.
