At first glance, it may look like a typical farm, but a Road Trip Close To Home to Elk Ravine Farm in Amenia comes with a few unexpected guests.

Scottish Highland cattle are just the beginning. Visitors can also meet water buffalos, emus, horses, goats, Kunekune pigs, and black-nosed sheep.

Owner James Archer has created a sanctuary where every animal is loved, and many play a role in restoring the ecosystem.

Archer said he uses the animals to work with endangered wildlife and combat invasive wetland weeds.

He believes in educating through experience, allowing guests to bond with animals and connect with the land.
