Tenants in East New York rallied on Thursday for permanent repairs to their apartments.

Tenants at 255 Pennsylvania Ave. said the issues ranged from leaky and collapsed ceilings to broken electrical outlets and roaches and rodents.

Kimi Lynch, who lives in the building, said things are so bad that she stopped paying rent five months ago.

"I've had to actually spend three months sleeping on my couch before because there was a leak in my bedroom where the ceiling had collapsed on my bed," said Lynch.

According to Housing Preservation & Development, the building had nearly 90 violations within the last decade and about 120 complaints in the past two years alone.

Tenants said they're not seeing repairs, just a bunch of patchwork.

"It's always a patch job," said Lynch. "They've ripped out my whole bathroom ceiling and wall before, and literally two weeks after they were supposedly completed with everything. This is what happens, so it's very frustrating."

Marc Goldberger, Crown Holdings Management and Plaza Management are listed under the four-story complex, which includes about two dozen apartments.

"This is unacceptable in the city of New York, that this is being allowed and that this slumlord is allowed to get away with this level of criminality," said Council Member Chris Banks, who represents East New York as part of the 42nd District.
